The Annika Academy announced today the “Play with Annika Video Contest.” If you’ve ever wanted to play golf with a LPGA professional, now’s your chance.
Starting today, September 8th, 2010 running through October 14th, 2010, you can submit a video, up to one minute in length, expressing why you should get to play golf with Annika Sorenstam. The video must be uploaded to a social media site like youtube or facebook and send the link with the entry form.
The winner will meet Annika for a photograph and autograph session and then play nine holes of golf with Annika at one of the three courses at Reunion Resort, Orlando, FL.
There will be two rounds of judging,
Initial Round. A panel of expert judges from ANNIKA Academy will evaluate videos properly entered in the Contest. Videos will be judged based on the following criteria: (i) creativity and originality; (ii) relevance to theme; (iii) persuasiveness and passion for golf. The entrants whose videos have the ten (10) highest scores will be deemed Finalists and will advance to the Final Round of judging as per Rule 5B below. Finalists will be notified by e-mail on or about October 21, 2010.
Final Round. Sponsor will post on the Contest Web Site links to the ten (10) Finalists’ videos for purposes of public voting; see also Rule 4E. (In the public vote, persons who register at the Contest Web Site will have the opportunity to rate one or more Finalists’ videos from 1 – 5 stars, with 5 stars being the highest possible rating. There is a limit of
one (1) vote per video per registered person per day.) Public voting is scheduled to take place between October 25, 2010 and October 31, 2010. The Grand Prize winner is the Finalist who has the highest composite final round score
based on average (mean) number of stars in public voting (25%) and Annika Sörenstam’s personal evaluation of the
Finalists’ videos as per the criteria set forth in Rule 5A (75%). The potential Grand Prize winner will be notified by
e-mail, phone and postal mail on or about November 5, 2010.
GRAND PRIZE
The opportunity to play nine (9) holes of golf with Annika Sörenstam at the ANNIKA Academy in Reunion, Florida on a date to be determined. Approximate Retail Value: $5.000.00 (USD).
That’s a pretty intense retail value, if you do the math, they’re billing out Annika at $2000 per hour.
A couple things to be aware of prior to submitting your entry..
Transportation is NOT included in the Grand Prize and will be the sole responsibility of the winner.All expenses related to acceptance or use of prize which are not specified in these Official Rules as well as all applicable taxes on prize are winner’s sole responsibility. If winner is from the U.S., winner will be issued an IRS 1099 Tax Form for the fair market value of the prize.Golf outing with Annika Sorenstam will not exceed two and one-half (2 ½) hours in duration, regardless of whether nine (9) holes of golf have been completed.Annika Sorenstam’s participation in the Grand Prize is subject to her professional commitments and availability; in the unlikely event that Ms. Sörenstam is unavailable for any reason, entrants understand and agree that Sponsor will fully satisfy its obligation to winner by selecting an instructor from the ANNIKA Academy of its sole choosing to play golf with winner in Ms. Sorenstam’s place.That would COMPLETELY suck if you went through the effort to create and promote a video and were selected as the grand prize winner only to have Annika Sorenstam bail to attend some prior commitment, especially since you’d STILL be stuck with the tax liability.
It’s pretty lame that they’re not footing the bill for transportation, I think it’s going to negatively impact the number of entrees into the contest.
